Instead of staying inside the park we elected to stay near the eastern gate at the Elephant Head Lodge. We are really glad we did. The lodge is scenic, rustic, homey and has everything you need. We stayed in the “Homesteader” room which was a log cabin design with master bedroom, kitchen, front sitting room, and a nice deck to sit and have coffee in the morning.
