Mount Rainier National Park is located in west-central Washington state. Several major cities in Washington- Seattle, Tacoma, and Yakima- and Portland, Oregon, are within miles of the Glacier National Park To Great Falls Mt. Trails lead through the peacefulness of the old-growth forest of the river valleys and the high subalpine meadows on the flanks of Mount Rainier. Groups larger than 12 people must stay at Cougar Rock Group Campground. Group sites are tent-only. RVs are not permitted. There are no shower or laundry facilities located in the park.

Portable showers are prohibited. Hammocks must be hung within the footprint of the campsite over bare ground. Camping fees do not include entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Passes used for discounts must be verified at the campground upon arrival. This area is subject to sudden and severe geological hazards such as flooding, landslides and rock fall.

Gathering firewood, pine cones, pine needles or any other vegetation found within park boundaries is prohibited. Don’t Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.
