Shiniuzhai National Geological Park
The valley’s geographical view where the bridge is located is said to have inspired the scenery in James Cameron’s film Avatar. All in all I should said other than the glass bridge all the other facilities are not complete, even the car park is not built yet. It has one of the steepest cable car in China; highest and longest suspension bridge in Hunan, the Brave Men’s Bridge; Asia’s longest zipline. I drop at this town and took a local transport who also serve as guide to the newly developed attraction.
China opens the world’s scariest bridge to the public
Confusing Shiniuzhai National Geological Park system, cable car up, glass bridge and walk down is cheapestadditional charges for cable car down, glass walkways down etc, little English spoken although there are guides available to hire, she wasn’t much help.
I drop at this town and took a local transport who also serve as guide to the newly developed attraction. The bus fare cost 45rmb. I don’t know if the public bus Shiniuzhai National Geological Park reach the attraction site because it took some distance from the main road.
There isn’t any guidance I can refer to from tripadvisor. Our driver guide who is a local from Shiniuzhai gave us a good review of the geopark and the glass bridge. Though the distance from Changsha seems not too far, a day trip is possible provided that u start earlier and prepare to take alternative transport to save time.
Fare to enter the national park is rmb, the cable car to the top is not reliable, there are only two cabins, it took hours waiting time, so its better to hike up, its about m in height. All in all I should said other than the glass bridge all the other facilities are not complete, even the car park is not built yet.
Construction is in progress for a highway linking to the park but at the mean time is all traffic congestion at the small road leading to the park, especially during weekend, expected 30, tourist a day. Well, the glass bottomed bridge, u will have to come to experince it yourself, the first few steps is a bit scary then the feeling has subsided and u start to enjoy it.

History[ edit ] The origins of the name Shi Niu Zhai come from the boulder that resembles a cattle in the west part of the park. Our driver guide who is a local from Shiniuzhai gave us a good review of the geopark and the glass bridge. It spans across two cliffs at meters above sea level The bridge’s body is made up of 2 main steel wires and 6 base steel wires with wooden planks as base.
