Re: waterfalls in acadia 13 years ago CountyMounty Well, as I said in my response, waterfalls aren’t among our strongest attractions. If we get a good, rainy November, that’s also a good time.

Hadlock Brook waterfall is the best known and maybe the only true “fall”. The Hadlock carriage road loop is one of my favoritesespecially in the winter when the waterfall is frozen over, with just a little water trickling down behind the ice. There usually are some pretty dramatic ice formations along the carriage road as Waterfalls In Acadia National Park. In that same area, the cascade of Hadlock Brook just before it enters Lower Hadlock Pond is very nice.

A friend who works in the interpretive program at ANP told me last evening that Canon Brook, which drains the southeastern slope of Cadillac, has an impressive cascade. You can access Canon Brook trail from Rte 3 on the the other side of the mountains, i. The Deer Brook cascade is also nice. Deer Brook runs in the gorge between Penobscot and Sargent Mountains, runs underneath the carriage road on the west side of Jordan Pondand empties into the north end of Jordan Pond.

The Deer Brook trail, even when it is not inundated, is pretty heavy going but a lot of the better part of the cascade is in the area just above and below the carriage-road Waterfalls In Acadia National Park. I’m in the process of switching my photos to the Glacier National Park To Great Falls Mt site on Picasawebwhen I get the Hadlock material up, I’ll post here. Report inappropriate content.
